...keeping body and soul together

About Me

I am a former Navy pilot, advanced degreed, retired, senior business executive and Licensed Massage Therapist (MT 141576). I worked at a local massage school as a part-time academic instructor and in various operations, marketing and quality assurance roles including working with over 50 student interns in the development and refinement of their skills. I have also written a Continuing Education (CE) business related course.

A large portion of my practice is complimentary in nature. With a family member who worked at two Domestic Violence Shelters, I witnessed the stress on her in supporting these victims, I could only imagine the stress that these families themselves were undergoing, their entire lives turned upside down without any idea of what to do or where to go. I then decided to return to the school and obtain my license so I could support these victims and their counselors by providing pro-bono massages. I've been to local shelters\outreach centers, homeless shelters and continue to expand my services to other similar facilities on an ongoing basis.  Furthermore, I give back by performing pro-bono chair massages to local teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week and am involved in many other volunteer services to the community. As a result, in 2023 I was the recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Services Award with nearly 500 hours of volunteer service.

I also volunteer at a local golf course (for free golf of course) and at various Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), PGA Seniors & Celebrity Tournament, multiple collegiate, US Women's 4 Ball and various amateur and junior LPGA\PGA league golf tournaments.

But I also have a for-profit side, however I continue to give back here as well as my fees are considerably less than my peers and are in-line with what schools charge for student interns (see rates). I perform medical massages for veterans and others. My practice is mobile massages only but I do not charge additional for this service nor for any add-ons. I have seen what stress does to the human body and how massage can alleviate that stress and I don't want to deny anyone the experience and benefits of a massage due to financial reasons. The fees earned merely pay for my incidental costs (insurance, CE courses, supplies, licensing, etc) and are not designed to provide a living income for me.

My practice consists of Therapeutic, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myo-Fascial and Bodywork, all of which may incorporate some optional stretching. I also offer mobile chair massages for small businesses and corporations.
